Biography
After graduating, I worked as a high school Chemistry teacher within Chicago Public Schools for two years and served on my school's leadership committee for fostering equity in student assessment across all subjects and grade levels. After teaching, I worked as a research specialist in the Lasek Lab at the University of Illinois in Chicago, which studied the epigenetic underpinnings of alcohol abuse disorders and withdrawal within the brain using a mouse model.
I am both honored and overjoyed to be a part of the second cohort of the Genetic Counseling MS program at 91ɫƵ. The program’s commitment to both equity and collaborative innovation will no doubt create a learning environment of diverse richness, perfect for instilling the skills and knowledge required to be able to practice as a culturally responsive, compassionate, and ambitious genetic counselor.
