Midwest Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellow Boot Camp
A full-day training event for Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellows

Children's Wisconsin, Milwaukee
The event exposes trainees to multiple pediatric emergency simulation scenarios, and gives fellows numerous educational opportunities that may include regional anesthesia, difficult airway techniques, neuroaxial techniques, acupuncture and use of a standardized patient for difficult conversations.
Fellows and faculty from training programs across the Midwest and Canada are welcome to attend this rigorous educational experience!
The Midwest Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellow Bootcamp was established in 2017 in collaboration with Riley Children鈥檚 Hospital and with faculty from the Children鈥檚 Hospital of Philadelphia, who have run a well-established East Coast Pediatric Anesthesia Fellow Bootcamp for many years.

Saturday
- High-yield simulations with debriefings and leadership topics
- Standardized patient scenarios (OSCE type)
- Advanced, interactive skills stations including POCUS

For participating programs

Faculty volunteers: This event requires at least one faculty member to do sim or skills stations per every one to two fellow attendees. Faculty volunteers will receive a certificate and thank-you letter as invited faculty for a regional seminar (promotable educator activity); also, it鈥檚 a great way to form new regional friendships!

Simulation Techs: We are looking for additional volunteers and can pay stipend/expenses. Please reach out!

Supplies: All supplies and space is donated by Children鈥檚 Wisconsin; we may (depending on group size) need additional sim babies or other portable 鈥渂orrowables鈥� from centers. This is essential to keeping costs down!
