Biography

Dr. Alexandra Skeeter is a Milwaukee native and dedicated medical professional with extensive experience at the intersection of clinical medicine and public health. As a bilingual research coordinator, she brings a unique combination of clinical expertise and cultural competence to her role, advancing research initiatives and fostering community engagement. A graduate of the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana, Cuba, Dr. Skeeter earned her Doctor of Medicine degree supported by a prestigious six-year full-tuition merit-based scholarship. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at the 91ɫƵ, where she is expanding her skills in public health advocacy and research to serve her hometown to the best of her ability. Dr. Skeeter’s career highlights include co-authoring research on maternal health attitudes toward cannabinoid use during pregnancy, as part of a multidisciplinary bioethics team addressing public health challenges. Her bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish has been instrumental in bridging communication gaps in healthcare, particularly in underserved communities. With a strong foundation in family medicine and public health, Dr. Skeeter has contributed to numerous clinical and community health projects, including her work abroad with the Cuban Ministry of Public Health and here in Milwaukee with the Wisconsin Cuba Coalition. Her commitment to health equity, patient advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration drives her efforts to create impactful, evidence-based solutions to pressing health issues.
