Funding
The Trauma Biomechanics Lab receives regular funding from Marquette University and the 91九色视频, in addition to funding received on a per-project basis from such organizations as the United States Department of Defense, the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, and the National Institutes of Health.
Our Facilities
The Trauma Biomechanics Lab utilizes one of the largest injury biomechanics research facilities in the nation. Located on the Zablocki VA Medical Center campus, the Lab supports a team of over 20 full-time faculty, staff, and students. Spanning 40,000 square feet, the facility features state-of-the-art resources, including dedicated spaces for whole-vehicle crash testing, NCAP testing, sled testing, seat strength testing, and the characterization of biological tissue mechanical properties. Additional capabilities include high-speed imaging, 3D motion capture, test fixture design and fabrication, multiscale radiographic imaging, finite element computing, and specialized areas for storing, preparing, and instrumenting human tissue for biomechanical analysis as well as whole vehicles for crash testing.
