Dr. Christopher Langlo Named Co-Director of the Dennis P. Han, MD Advanced Ocular Imaging Program
Dr. Langlo will be responsible for promoting the AOIP both within 91ɫƵ as well as on a national and international level. He will also help set strategic priorities for collaborations, engage in philanthropic efforts and review annual AOIP progress.

Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Conducts Albinism Research at 2024 NOAH National Conference
The 91ɫƵ team from the department of ophthalmology and visual sciences attended the event and helped conduct research throughout the conference. More than 120 individuals were enrolled in the research in just a day and a half.

The program will increase the number of NIH supported pre-doctoral positions available from three in the most recent five-year term to four annually.

91ɫƵ and Children’s Wisconsin Develops Partnership with Hospital Infantile Teleton Oncologia in Mexico for an International Retinoblastoma Program
HITO is the first dedicated Pediatric Cancer Center in Mexico, serving patients from birth to 18 years old. HITO hopes to host the first RB multidisciplinary clinic in Mexico with access to the latest treatments to save the eyes of RB pediatric patients.

Dr. Ross Collery Receives Grant to Study the Role of STRA6 in the Retinal Pigment Epithelium (RPE) of the Eye
Ross Collery, PhD, assistant professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences, was awarded a five-year, $1.93 million R01 grant from the National Eye Institute to investigate the role of STRA6 in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) of the eye using zebrafish as a model organism.
