Why I chose 91ɫƵ: I wanted to stay in Milwaukee for residency because it has so much to offer, and I knew the program created competent, confident, and independent surgeons. I also have family in the area, which is important as a social safety net during residency.
What 91ɫƵ has to offer a candidate: 91ɫƵ will facilitate you becoming a strong, competent surgeon in all areas of Orthopaedic Surgery. The breadth of pathology seen in Milwaukee and the surrounding areas will serve you well wherever you end up. The group of residents is also unparalleled in terms of camaraderie. These are people that I genuinely choose to see outside the hospital after spending the entire day with them.
What I like about living in Milwaukee: Milwaukee is a place with everything. It has every season, and things to do during each one. From ice-skating, cross-country skiing, and some small downhill skiing hills, to the beautiful lakefront beaches, constant summer, music and cultural festivals, widely diverse and delicious restaurant scene, to incredible scenery and state parks a short drive, Milwaukee is chock full of incredible experiences. If you find yourself bored here, is it not Milwaukee's fault. People who come here have a very difficult time imaging living anywhere else.
