Biography

My name is Emma Farson and I am from Papillion, Nebraska. I graduated with honors and high distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2023 with a BS in Biological Sciences and a BS in Psychology. During undergrad, I was actively involved in advocacy work through Voices of Hope, a Lincoln non-profit that serves victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as a peer advocate through the mental health and well-being office. My passion for advocacy was reflected in my thesis “Undergraduate and Graduate Student Well-Being at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln – Current Trends and Future Directions”. Additionally, I helped co-found the Pre-Genetic Counseling Club at UNL to connect students interested in genetic counseling with resources and support. In my free time, you can find me engrossed in romance novels, taking Barre, Pilates, and Yoga classes, kayaking, exploring Milwaukee, trying new restaurants, drinking chai, and spending time with my friends and family. I am so excited to be a part of the MSGC program at 91ɫƵ and cannot wait to become a genetic counselor in just 21 short months!
