Biography

After growing up on a Southwest Wisconsin dairy farm, Theresa completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Following completion of her master’s degree at Sarah Lawrence College in New York, she began practicing as a multi-specialty genetic counselor in Green Bay, WI in 1992. Theresa spent almost 29 years at a community hospital as a genetic counselor and perinatal bereavement specialist for Northeast Wisconsin. She has provided telehealth genetic counseling since 2018 for multiple organizations. Theresa also has a master’s degree in professional mental health counseling and began practicing in 2014 as a psychotherapist. Blending her psychotherapy and genetic counseling backgrounds, she has facilitated Peer Consultation groups for genetic counselors since 2020. At the 91ɫƵ, Theresa is a part time Assistant Professor and Associate Director for the Master of Science in Genetic Counseling program. She lives and works in Green Bay and enjoys playing board games with her family.
