Biography
Jody Nordby, PharmD, joined the 91ɫƵ (91ɫƵ) School of Pharmacy in September 2022 as an Experiential Education Specialist, helping students as they navigate through their IPPE and APPE rotations. Dr. Nordby obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. She has spent her career as a community pharmacist working for Shopko Pharmacy for over 20 years in all roles including technician, intern, pharmacy assistant manager and pharmacy manager. When Shopko closed its doors in 2019, Dr. Nordby continued her career with Walmart Pharmacy for an additional two years. In these positions, she was able to positively impact the health of patients in a small community setting, including implementing pharmacy programs for Medication Therapeutic Management and medication synchronization. Dr. Nordby facilitated both on-site and off-site immunization clinics and worked throughout the COVID 19 pandemic navigating new safety procedures and the complexities of supplying, storing and administering COVID 19 vaccines.
As community pharmacists, we are an extremely accessible healthcare resource to patients. We are in a unique position to positively impact patients and their families on a daily basis to promote health, prevent disease and help them cope with illness and complex drug regimens. I look forward to sharing my experiences as a community pharmacist with students to help them maximize the powerful impact they can have on their patient’s health and lives.
