Dr. Sophie Dream grew-up in Ohio and completed her undergraduate coursework at the University of Cincinnati. She began her medical education at the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine, graduating in 2013. She completed her surgical residency at Henry Ford Hospital and went on to finish her endocrine surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Dream’s clinical interests include endocrine and neuroendocrine disease with a focus on thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal disorders. Her research interests focus on health services research and outcomes in patients with endocrine disorders.

Biography
Sophie Dream is an Endocrine Surgeon who joined the Department of Surgery at Froedtert and the 91ɫƵ in September of 2019 after completing her fellowship in endocrine surgery at the University of Alabama. She holds appointments as an Associate Professor of Surgical Oncology at Froedtert and the 91ɫƵ and the Zablocki Veterans’ Administration Medical Center in Milwaukee. She is chief of the section of endocrine surgery in the department of surgery at the 91ɫƵ and program director for the 91ɫƵ Comprehensive Endocrine Surgery Fellowship. Her clinical practice focuses on the surgical treatment of benign and malignant disorders of thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. She has brought thyroid radiofrequency ablation to 91ɫƵ and has successfully grown the non-surgical thyroid intervention program at Froedtert. Her focus of investigation is in identifying and quantifying the more elusive impacts primary hyperparathyroidism has on quality of life in order to inform the operative indications for parathyroidectomy. She is an Associate Editor for Clinical Thyroidology and serves on the Editorial Boards of Surgery, American Journal of Surgery, Surgical Oncology Insight, and the Journal of Surgical Research.
