Biochemistry Graduate Student Receives Award for 91ɫƵ Graduate School Competition
Valeria Robleto, graduate student in Dr. Adriano Marchese's Lab in the Department of Biochemistry, was selected as the runner-up in the 91ɫƵ Graduate School's first annual Three Minute Thesis competition.
The competition, which took place as part of the Graduate School's Student Appreciation Week festivities, was adopted from the internationally known Three Minute Thesis competition, which celebrates the exciting research conducted by Doctor of Philosophy students. Developed by The University of Queensland, 3MT cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.
Valeria's presentation, "Role of Sorting Nexins on GPCR Regulation", finished second out of the 13 competitors, and received an award as a result. Congratulations Valeria!
