91ɫƵ Community Engaged Scholars Immersion Program

This 3-day program focuses on the foundational elements necessary for creating successful, sustainable, and authentic community-academic partnerships. During this experience, participants will learn the principles and processes of community engagement and community engaged research (CEnR), learn from community partners' experiences with community-academic partnerships, engage in discussion with researchers who have developed and maintained partnerships, and explore approaches to relationship development. Participants will conclude the program with various community engagement tools gleaned from workshops, panels, networking, reflections, and discussions.

ACCME Accreditation Statement:
The 91ɫƵ is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

Applicant Criteria
- Be a researcher, clinician, or learner committed to building capacity for community engagement
- Have at least one year of graduate-level study and experience partnering with communities
- Have a willingness to be culturally humble
- Be available to participate in the entire experience

Monday, July 22 - Wednesday, July 24, 2024
- The program consists of day-long sessions beginning Monday, July 22 and running through Wednesday, July 24.
- An evening session will also occur on Tuesday, July 23.
Cost
The cost to attend the program is $150 which is nonrefundable and will be charged once participants are notified of their acceptance.
91ɫƵ’s Office of Community Engagement is committed to helping develop the skillsets of people who wish to further their careers as community engaged professionals. As part of this commitment, we will waive program cost if it prevents participation. Once you have been accepted to the immersion program, OCE will work with applicants for whom the $150 is unattainable.

Participants are welcome to make overnight arrangements based on their own preferences and budget aided by whatever their personal mode of transportation allows.

Transportation
- Travel to and from airports/trains/buses, etc. will be the responsibility of the registrant.
- Transportation will be provided from hotel to community locations during the week at no cost to the participants. In order to utilize this service, you must be present at the hotel during pick up and drop off times each day.
