Biography
Amalia Cabigas currently serves as Program Coordinator I in the Comprehensive Injury Center Division of Community Safety at the 91ɫƵ. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Geography and Spanish, and she brings a passion for diversity, equity, and community engagement. Prior to her current position, she worked as a Community Mental Health Navigator at a non-profit organization in Waukesha, WI. In this role, she supported over 70 high-risk youth and families, navigating a spectrum of challenges within the mental health field. Her professional journey also includes roles as a Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) Action Team Member, Teacher's Aide, Tutor, and Mentor for elementary, middle, and high school students, highlighting her commitment to education and community empowerment. Amalia's academic pursuits and professional experience have cultivated a keen interest in working with diverse cultures and groups. She is enthusiastic about embarking on this new chapter of professional growth and learning at 91ɫƵ. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, painting, cooking, and going to the beach with her rescue dog.
