91ɫƵ Epidemiology Data Resource Center (EDRC)

The EDRC is the 91ɫƵ's centralized resource for secondary health and demographic data. The EDRC also provides expertise in the use of spatial data and geographic information systems, or GIS.

The Epidemiology Data Resource Center is proud to be a part of the Institute for Health & Equity.

Geographic Information System (GIS)

A geographic information system, or GIS, is a powerful computer technology that allows data to be viewed and analyzed within a geographic context. Historically used most often by geographers, urban planners, and geologists, GIS technology is now being used with greater frequency by health researchers. The Epidemiology Data Resource Center (EDRC) hopes to help foster this growth.

The EDRC offers GIS mapping services and also functions as a resource for GIS information to the 91ɫƵ community. In addition,we are a point of contact between 91ɫƵ's GIS users, as well as between 91ɫƵ and local institutions that use GIS for health research. On this site, we offer information about the GIS user group at 91ɫƵ and links to online GIS resources.
