Making a Difference through Giving to the 91ɫƵ Department of Surgery

The 91ɫƵ Department of Surgery is dedicated to leadership and excellence in patient care, discovery, education and public and community health.

Philanthropy plays an important role in advancing the work of the Department of Surgery and the patients who receive its benefits. Over the past century, many generous philanthropic partners have helped our Department build a foundation of excellence in patient care, medical training and innovation. Now more than ever, philanthropic gifts are vital to the Department’s efforts to advance the practice of surgery.

Gifts to the Department of Surgery support research and patient care. This statement is true, but does not paint a full picture of how contributions are put to important use, often life-saving work.

We would be honored if you join the many individuals who invest in our search for answers to human disease. Your gift to the Department of Surgery is truly an investment in a healthier future for you, your family and for generations.

Directing Your Gift

Directing Your Gift

Philanthropic support is essential to our work. It is the catalyst for success as our physicians tirelessly investigate more effective treatments for our patients.

There are many areas in which the Department of Surgery is making major contributions in the diagnosis and management of surgical diseases. You may direct your gift to support all of the research, education and patient care activities of the Department of Surgery or you can restrict your contribution to support the work of a specific surgeon or a specific division within the Department.

Honor and memorial gifts can be made to recognize a loved one’s passing, to acknowledge a special occasion or perhaps to honor a significant person in your life.

In many cases, planned gifts can provide tangible financial benefits to you and/or another beneficiary, through tax advantages and the retention of lifetime income from the donated asset.
